VRTI visits Killruddery House, Co. Wicklow

On Sunday 20th August, VRTI deputy director Ciarán Wallace visited Killruddery House on the outskirts of Bray, Co. Wicklow, to give a lecture for Heritage Week. Killruddery has been the estate of the Brabazon family since 1618.

Karlin Lillington of the Irish Times attended and published a piece about the development of the VRTI, calling it

“an absorbing tale of imagination, diligence, chance discoveries and fruitful relationships with other national archives”

and encouraging readers to head to the virtual reality tour of the Public Record Office.

Lillington’s piece can be found here.

Killruddery House is a partner archive in the Virtual Treasury. To view the records from the Brabazon-Meath Papers which are helping to replace originals lost in 1922, see: https://www.virtualtreasury.ie/browse/Killruddery_House.
