[Various] to Col. Henry Gore Sanky. Memorial to Colonel Henry Gore Sankey, commanding the Royal Dublin Regiment of Militia. The memorial is from the men under his command and regards the trial of Lieut Whilly at the assizes of Trim for the murder of Ensign Roberts, late of the same regiment. Whilly has been convicted of manslaughter but they nonetheless implore Colonel Sankey to petition the Lord Lieutenant to remove Lieut Whilly from the regiment, so as not to bring disgrace to it. They point out that Whilly never actually took up his position in the regiment.
