60 The ADAPT Centre: Engaging Content Engaging People Profiling our Senior Research Engineers ADAPT, the world-leading SFI Research Centre for AI-Driven Digital Content Technology, brings leading academics, researchers and industry partners together to deliver excellent science, engage the public, develop novel solutions for business across all sectors and enhance Ireland’s international reputation. Coordinated by Trinity College Dublin and co-hosted by Dublin City University, ADAPT’s partner institutions include University College Dublin, Technological University Dublin, Maynooth University, Munster Technological University, Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest, and the National University of Ireland Galway. Theo Little, ADAPT Programme Manager, Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland Theo holds an MA in Design for Digital Media, a Diploma in Marketing Communications and Advertising Strategy, and a BA in History. Since joining the DLab and ADAPT Centre in 2019, he has played a key role in the Beyond 2022 project. Theo’s responsibilities involve organising and integrating the interdisciplinary research team, which encompasses archival discovery, digital image capture, knowledge management, linked open data, database development, Virtual Reality design, and front-end web development. Dr. Eamonn Kenny Senior Research Fellow, TCD, ADAPT Centre Eamonn holds a PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, a MSc in Numerical Analysis and a BA in Mathematics. He brings to the VRTI project: 10 years of experience as a grid/ cloud deputy operations manager for the Irish Grid Computer Initiative, 7 years as portability coordinator for the Large Hadron Collider in CERN, and 3 years quality assurance manager for all 5 middleware stacks used by CERN in the EU FP7 EMI project. Since joining the ADAPT centre he has worked in the area of AI fusion and AI for multimodal content for the Automotive, Fintech and Culinary arts industries. He is the Senior Software Architect for the VRTI, responsible for scalability, performance and quality assurance across the whole project. Pallavit Aggarwal, ADAPT Senior Research Engineer, Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland Pallavit, with an ongoing MSc in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin, holds over 6 years of rich tech experience. He has played leading roles at NielsenIQ, Verizon, and Ernst & Young, honing his skills in full product lifecycle management and backend design. Now at the Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland, he leverages his expertise in Web, Computer Vision, NLP and Cloud to digitise the Public Record Office of Ireland. At the ADAPT Centre, his passion for marrying technology with humanities enhances research quality and revives Ireland’s historical narratives, highlighting his commitment to fostering innovation in the field. Dr Lucy McKenna Lucy McKenna holds a PhD in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin. She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the VRTI project and the Searobend project in the ADAPT Centre, TCD. She previously worked as a postdoc on the Access Risk Knowledge (ARK) Project in DCU. Lucy’s research focuses on the use of Linked Data in the Digital Humanities.
