Deep History, Deepening Collaborations
Above: Part of the Barony of Strabane, County Tyrone (1609). One of a series of maps made by Josias Bodley for the Plantation of Ulster, demarcating townland boundaries in Gaelic areas for the first time. These impressive maps were drawn based on local descriptions as opposed to a physical survey, and made to fit into larger barony and county boundaries as they were understood at the time.
