A Century of Recovery – and Beyond - Marking the centenary of the Four Courts fire (1922) and the launch of the Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland

5 Trinity College Dublin has been a magnificent partner throughout the Decade of Centenaries. I would like to acknowledge the immense contribution of the late Dr Seamus (Shay) Lawless, whose enthusiasm and vision was instrumental in the project’s early years. I commend Dr Peter Crooks, Dr Ciarán Wallace, and the Beyond 2022 project team, for their ambition and dedication in bringing this innovative and imaginative project to fruition. I would encourage everyone to wander through the Virtual Record Treasury, spend time browsing the shelves, and discover for yourself the great store of archival riches that are freely accessible to us all.
